What is the new breakdown for the girls clubs previously known as Missionettes? |
Rainbows through Stars now operate under the Mpact Girls Clubs name. Friends and Girls Only Clubs operate under the Teen Girl Ministries name. This change allows the girls moving from Stars into Friends to reflect that they are moving from the younger girls clubs to the teen girl clubs. This name change alone can reflect a rite of passage for the older girls, as they move into Teen Girl Ministries. |

Why was the name changed from Missionettes? |
This decision was made by the Assemblies of God denomation and since we have a contract to use and customize their curriculum for the IPHC, we made the decision to follow suit. It allows for growth and expansion of the clubs and Girls' Ministries as a whole. Our official name has been and will remain IPHC Girls' Ministries which we recommend using when referring to the overall program of girls clubs in the local church. (The name Missionettes covered all clubs, but Girls' Ministries is now the terminolgy of choice when referring to the ministry as a whole on the local, conference, and general levels.) |

Will there be curriculum changes to the clubs as a result of this change? |
The clubs as achievement or nonachievement clubs will continue to be available and the curriculum for all clubs will remain the same. Curriculum and awards are still available for purchase through LifeSprings Resources. Only the change to the umbrella names of Mpact Girls Clubs and Teen Girl Ministries has changed. |

During the annual graduation ceremony or Girls' Ministries Celebration, should all clubs be honored together? |
It is at the discretion of the conference and the local church to include in the ceremonies and celebrations whichever clubs they choose. One benefit of including the teen girl clubs in the celebrations with the Mpact Girls Clubs is that it allows the younger girls to see the older girls as role models. On the flip side, including the teen girl clubs in a separate ceremony may make them feel that they have moved beyond the younger clubs in a spiritual rite of passage. Weigh your options and make your decision with input from your sponsors. |
