Skits & Ideas for Girls' Ministries (GM) Week

Each year, the Girls' Ministries office in Oklahoma City develops skits and ideas for GM Day, the club meeting during GM Week, and a sleepover idea for Friday night of GM Week. Those resource items are available in the GM Week Planning Kit (click on the graphic link to the right to download the kit) or individually through the links below.

Discovering Treasure is a program designed for use on Girls' Ministries Day which enhances the annual theme, "Hidden Treasure in Jars of Clay." From this page, you can download the related files for GM Day. We are developing a Power Point presentation that you can use to present the materials instead of using your girls to present it if you prefer. Or, you can use them together using your own creativity. The next paragraph will explain the different flies.

This timed Power Point show is now under development (which means the links below WILL NOT work yet). You just need to have a narrator read the script that goes with it. There will be three different files you can download and use on GM Day. First, you'll want to choose between the Power Point Show (.pps) and the Power Point Presentation (.ppt). The show file does not allow you to edit any of the slides. You just click on it and it begins running with the pre-programmed timing of slides and the information on each slide. If you want to have editing capabilities, then you'll want to download the ".ppt" file which is the presentation file. It will allow you to delete slides, change the timing, etc. However, be careful before you make changes. I would recommend that if you need to delete a slide to make it shorter, do it from a copy of the file. Then, you'll want to download the "Power Point Slides Notes" which will give you a picture of each slide and what should be read with that slide. (You'll want to use these notes instead of the script that was presented in the GM Week packet since the information is in bullet format on the slide.) Practice before doing the slide show; have fun and enjoy. Check back in August and the three links below will be active.

Film Canister Offering Banks are recommended as an inexpensive way to save quarters for the Girls' Ministries Day Offering. Make the offering canisters several weeks ahead of time. Download this one-page master and print it in color if at all possible. These are designed to be printed on 2" x 4" adhesive labels. Trim slightly at the bottom of each label to fit the canister and attach it. Have each girl put her name on the back of the canister and begin saving quarters! Make enough for other members of the church, especially parents of girls, to get everybody involved. It is important to teach the girls about giving from the financial treasures God has given us! (As an alternative, you could make banks from clay pots this year.)
