Outreach Opportunities

Number five of our Fivefold Purpose is to acquaint girls with the Great Commission of Jesus Christ our Lord. There are units in the curriculum of different clubs to address our part of the Great Commission, but there is nothing better than involving the girls in missions projects. While there are numerous worthy opportunities around the world, we have chosen a few to promote nationally. The following links will introduce these to you as they are developed.

Project I DO. Every girl dreams of her wedding day. That's why we launched Project I DO at our first national girls event, Power Chicks '07. I DO stands for India's Dowry Offering and this money is helping long-time missionaries Hobert and Marguerite Howard provide the necessary dowry for their "adopted" Indian children as they reach marrying age. Without this support from the United States, these brides and grooms would be unable to provide the things tradition mandates. Our collective support from Power Chicks and offerings since then have helped with at least two weddings. A few more are still needed. I'll be developing a page with photos for this project soon. Girls' Ministries Goes Spanish. Over the past two years, we have taken teams to Costa Rica and Mexico to provide training for implementing the girls clubs approach to reaching girls in these Spanish-speaking countries. Ongoing finances are needed to help purchase and ship curriculum and resources to these countries as the ministries develop. Watch for a page to highlight these outreach opportunities. In the meantime, your donations to help fund Spanish-speaking ministry to girls can be sent earmarked 04-12-3212-00024. All funds with this code will be used for materials for one of these countries as their program develop. I'll be developing a page with photos for this project soon. Operation Teaching Tools. When Girls’ Ministries partners with Operation Teaching Tools, your girls get a great sense of accomplishment and missionaries around the world are blessed with some great teaching tools!

Child Sponsorship through People to People. Many local groups have found the child sponsorship program under the direction of People to People to be a great way to introduce their girls to missions. This would be a monthly project. Click on the blue link above to learn more about this IPHC ministry.
