Appalachian Conference. WM Director Wanda Myers reported that the conference Girls' Ministries conducted its first "Bronze Level Training" with general GM coordinator, Irvina Parker, in May 2006. Virginia Smith, her mother, joined the group for the afternoon session at Harbor of Hope Church in Christiansburg, Virginia. (This was Mother's Day weekend; what an honor to be in attendance as your daughter trains leaders to work with girls to teach them godly values!) The following ladies in our conference completed the Bronze level training and will receive certification as soon as they complete and pass their open book test through the general GM office: New Horizons Conference. The Missionettes from Faith Alive Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, are totally excited about the national girls event, Power Chicks '07 at Ridgecrest, North Carolina in July. With 18 girls and sponsors attending this historic, first-ever event, they need to raise approximately $3,000 for their trip. They have begun raising money for their expenses. Their most recent fundraising event featured the Valentine's holiday. (The photo of the basket to the right helped them raise $1,100 toward the trip!) I-95, I soon found myself making jaunts and turns to eventually reach the secluded Camp Robinson. |
